A mafia enemies to lovers romance.
This page turner had me reading until 1 AM and reluctantly putting the book down for sleep. I think I finished the book in about three days; that's with the limited time between getting the two kids ready in the morning for daycare, the working a full time job, picking them up, and with juggling groceries, bills, appointments, baths, and all that is parents do.
Dante and Katerina, AKA Kat, have quite the first everlasting impression when Dante was sent looking for Leo, Kat's only brother. When Dante got there, he only found Kat, who informed him that Leo had disappeared, taking what little she had saved with him and leaving her, to clean up his mess.
Dante shares that not only is he intrigued by Kat based on their interaction, but he did his research on the woman who had everything going for her in her career and home and then one day, everything changed. Kat insists there isn't anything that she has that will cover the mess her brother left for her, Dante, however, has other plans for her.
Kat is thrust into a prison, one with a maid who cooks her favorite meals, free range of a majority of the home, and little expectations. The only one: be there when Dante calls. After the forced proximity and unique chemistry bewteent the two enemies, things start to get spicy relatively quickly, and as we follow Kat's delima on how she feels for her captor, we learn more on the day that changed everything for her, and how her and Dante's paths were destined.
If you enjoy forced proximity, enermies to lovers, and mafia romance this is a great choice. From this book, we meet Dante's family from branches several other charater's individual stories such as "Joey" and "Lorenzo."
